A Georgia teacher has been suspended from his job after authorities allege he had sex last week with a teenage boy in a public park.
PEOPLE confirms that Tracy Wayne Crosby, 42, has been charged in Georgia’s Camden County with solicitation of sodomy and reckless conduct by a person with HIV.
Crosby, who lives in Waycross, has also been fired from his job as a part-time law enforcement officer for the Pierce County Sheriff’s Office.
PEOPLE learns from authorities that the alleged victim, 16, left home on Nov. 28, but did not tell his mother where he was going.
Police allege Crosby picked the boy up and drove him to the nearby park.
The worried mother searched for her son, allegedly finding him with Crosby at the park, where police allege they were having sexual intercourse.
The mother called 911 to report the alleged incident, and police tracked down Crosby the next day. He has been behind bars ever since on $150,000 bail.
PEOPLE was unable to determine if Crosby has appeared before a judge to plea to the charges.
He does not have an attorney who could comment on the allegations.
A statement from the Ware County School District, obtained by PEOPLE, states Crosby is on leave.
“The school district is fully cooperating with all law enforcement agencies and the Professional Standards Commission,” stated LeBrun. “No further information will be available until the police investigation and the district investigation have been completed.”
